Director & deputy director

Born in 1977, a philosopher and historian by education, has been the director of CNVOS since 2011. He joined CNVOS in 2008 to introduce an advocacy unit. He has been active in the non-governmental sector since 2002, when he started working with The Peace Institute, the institute for contemporary social and political studies, and its Workers and Punks’ University.

Since 2011, he has been a member of the Advisory Council of the Government of Slovenia for the Development of Volunteering, Voluntary and Non-Governmental Organisations. Since 2014 he has been serving as the chair of the European Network of National Civil Society Associations (ENNA) after having been its vice-president for two years prior. In the same year, he also became a member of the management board of the European Civic Forum. Between 2011 and 2013 he was the vice-president of CEDAG - The European Council for Non-Profit Organisations.

Goran has been the initiator and co-creator of several legislative and policy changes concerning the NGO sector (The Societies Act, Social Entrepreneurship Act, Volunteering Act, Personal Income Tax Act, Integrity and Prevention of Corruption Act, Strategy of Development of Social Entrepreneurship etc.), and for many years, a determined advocate for transparency and openness of legislative procedures.

At the invitation of European institutions, foreign governments and NGOs, he regularly gives lectures at various international consultations, meetings, conferences and seminars on topics such as the appropriate/suitable/enabling legal environment for the development of NGOs, methods and processes of democratic public participation in the decision-making process, etc.

Privately, he is a bibliophile and a passionate attendee of auctions of old books and prints. He writes a blog on his visits of used books stores, flee markets.

TINA DIVJAK, deputy director
Born in 1981, lawyer by education, Tina has been the deputy director and head of advocacy since 2011. She started working in the non-governmental sector in 2003 as a volunteer at the Legal-Informational Centre for NGOs.

Tina has specialised in the field of NGOs, focusing on the legal framework for the functioning of NGOS, their transparency and accountability, public participation in the decision-making process, organisational development of NGO etc. She is the co-author of the Quality Assurance System for NGOs and the author of many publications on the functioning of the sector in Slovenia and globally.

Since 2011 she has been the president of the Advisory Council of the Government of Slovenia for the Development of Volunteering, Voluntary and Non-Governmental Organisations. She is also a management board of the Civil Society Development Network.

She regularly gives lectures on various domestic and international conferences and seminars at the invite of public institutions and NGOs, and is a consultant in the area of organisational development, public participation in the decision-making process, Quality Assurance System etc.
