THE SHARE OF NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANISATIONS’ REVENUE RELATIVE TO GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT (2009–2024)
In 2024, total NGOs’ revenue represented 2,13 % of Slovenian GDP. In recent years, this share has mostly been fluctuating. In 2017, after five years, it was again higher than in the previous year, but not higher than before the crisis. Fluctuations continued between 2018 and 2020, and in 2023 it reached the highest level so far. In 2024, the share is lower than it was in the previous year. This share of revenue of NGO's in GDP is much lower than in other countries. According to the latest major Johns Hopkins International Comparative Study from 2013, the global average is 4,13 %, and the EU average is 3,8 %.
