In 2020, total NGOs’ revenue represented 1.91 % of Slovenian GDP. In recent years, this share had been mostly been dropping. 2017 was the only year since 2012 when it increased in comparison to the previous year. It dropped again in 2018. In 2019 it has increased again but it has yet to reach the pre-crisis era. And it dropped again in 2020. This share of revenue of NGO's in GDP is much lower than in other countries. According to the latest major Johns Hopkins International Comparative Study from 2013, the global average is 4.13 %, and the EU average is 3.8 %.
